Resolution

Not all Plesk versions can be upgraded to the latest one directly. If you have Plesk 7.5.4 or more recent version you can upgrade to the current (8.1.1) version without intermediate steps. Otherwise Plesk have to be upgraded to the latest 7.5.4 build and only after that to the 8.x version.

There are several ways to upgrade Plesk:

- The first, using Plesk CP updater tool, that is available since Plesk 7.1. To be able to upgrade to the latest Plesk version through Plesk CP you have to have the latest "psa-autoinstaller" package installed.

- The second one is console based autoinstaller utility (/usr/local/psa/bin/autoinstaller). You can download the latest autoinstaller version that is suitable for your operating system from Plesk download section on http://www.swsoft.com.

- And the last, installing Plesk packages manually by means of the OS packet manager. Plesk destribution can be taken from Plesk download section on http://www.parallels.com.

More detailed instruction how to install/upgrade Plesk can be found in the product release notes on the Plesk download page.

Please always read Release Notes for the Plesk version you are going to upgrade to. You can find it in Plesk download section on http://www.swsoft.com.
