Resolution

Problem

When trying to access the Helm control panel login screen, you instead get this error:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01a8'

Object required: 'xml.documentElement'

/LM/W3SVC/2/ROOT/global.asa, line 62

and you cannot proceed.

Solution

This usually suggests that a language pack is causing an issue. On your server, go to

[HELM INSTALL PATH]\WebHost Automation\Helm\Control Panel\languages

and delete the language packs in that folder. Leave the reload.asp file there. Redownload any language packs you require from:

http://download.webhostautomation.net/Helm/downloads/LanguagePacks/

and then go to this URL in a browser:

http://YOUR-HELM-URL/languages/reload.asp

where YOUR-HELM-URL is the URL to your control panel.

This will reload all of your languages. Now try going to the control panel main page - it should load correctly.
